It’s All About Cork!

By Ashley Anderson

Fashionistas, take note:  Cork is this season’s new neutral!  The options are endless with this natural, durable and chic material.  From New York Fashion Week to the city streets, cork has been spotted from head to toe. Designers including Oscar de la Renta, Manolo Blahnik and Michael Kors have embraced this trend and made it their own.

Cork wedges are flying off the shelf this season — and for good reason!  How cute are white jeans paired with DVF cork wedges?   Cork clutches and accessories – cork earrings, bangles and belts – can complete a little black dress, neutralize colored jeans or match perfectly with pastels.

This trend has even made its way to home décor.  Bulletin boards and other simple cork accessories might pop into your mind when you think of cork in the home, but interior designers have taken this look one step further.  Cork-printed fabric, mosaic tile and wallpaper are just a few examples of how interior designers around the world have made this natural resource a must-have look for your home.

I love cork because just as you pointed out: durability! I’m looking at my wedges and heals right now and they look horribly abused. My Tory Burch cork wedges are the only pair in fair condition. They are definitely a smart purchase this season.
